How to Limit Journals Size

Check journal size

Bash
sudo journalctl --disk-usage

Shrink journal size

Bash
sudo journalctl --vacuum-size=500M

Reduce archived files and leave last 2

Bash
sudo journalctl --vacuum-files=2

Verify journal - if there are any corruptions

Bash
sudo journalctl --verify

On Ubuntu you can permanently limit here

sudo nano /etc/systemd/journald.conf
Text Only
SystemMaxUse=3G
SystemKeepFree=600M
Bash
sudo service systemd-journald restart
